If you're looking for a cheep place to study I really advise you to take a look at French engineering schools. A year of study in a public school or university costs you almost nothing ! Usually it's around 400€ (~500$). Even if Paris is ranked as the best city to study in and gathered all the best programs there are some other really good cities in France that you should consider. And the rents in Paris are expensive (600€) compared to the rest of France (300€).
I would suggest the second biggest French city : Lyon, a great city to live in, close to the Alps, it's 1 hour and a half away from Paris and the mediterannee by train. It's known for many things (food, historical sites, there's a world famous event in december with lights in the streets, the climate is good, people are nice, good shopping, 2 rivers, good parties...).
My boyfriend studies engineering over there in a very good school (ECAM - Ecole des Arts et Métiers).
Good luck for your research !

Norway is really really expensive.

If you like Eastern European countries you could always check Romania out. We're definitely cheap, that's for sure. You can rent a good looking 2 room apartament for about 200-250 euros while food shouldn't cost you more than 80-100 euros monthly. Beer is also cheap, about 1-1,5 euros in any pub you go to. Moreover, girls are pretty and people like to party :).

If you need more details just let me know!

Ok. Thank you all above comments.
I want to go for a research internship for two months. Which European country will be appropriate for less expenses as well as good research environment in Electrical engineering major.
Try to answer at least for expenses.
Thanks in advance.
Yours,
Ashok

Hi Ganesh, there are plenty of countries in Europe and outside offering cheap higher education, some places more popular than others. We have a article called Where Can You Study Abroad for Free? which lists free and affordable places to study or a range of country guides on our where to study homepage (including Poland). To find leading schools in these countries, see the QS World University Rankings 2014/15. Good luck! Laura

No problem Ganesh! Your visa rejection shouldn't be a problem in other countries, as long as you meet all the visa requirements for that particular country. All public universities in Finland offer free tuition, but at undergraduate level the majority of programs are taught in either Finnish or Swedish (at graduate level however, English led programs are more common). Another option would be to study at a 'university of applied sciences', which offer more vocational and industry-led degrees often taught in English. These schools are not often featured in the world rankings but you can find the names of some reputed ones on the languages section of our Finland guide. The official Study in Finland site may also be useful for finding relevant programs.

I hope this helps :)

Hi Mehdi, there are no tuition fees at public universities in Norway or Argentina (although semester/enrollment fees still apply), and in South Korea an undergraduate course at a public university costs from US$2,000 to US$4,500 per semester. For other affordable study abroad options, please take a look at our article on where you can study abroad for free. Hope this helps!

Hi Rahul, please take a look at our article 'how much does it cost to study in Germany?' for information on the costs of living. We also have a list of scholarships to study in Germany. To find out more about studying at masters level in Germany, please see this article. You can find out the exact entry requirements by browsing the official website/s of the institution/s you're interested in, but I wouldn't have thought not having experience would be a problem. Hope this helps!

Hi Mulroney, our latest rankings by subject for electrical engineering can help in the first stage of your university search (you can narrow the results down to show only the universities in certain countries/regions). We've suggested a range of low cost study destinations here and you can browse our main page of scholarships to study abroad here, which includes an article listing scholarships to study in Asia. Hope this helps!

Hi Umar. This will really depend on what you're looking for in both your study program and environment. I'd recommend browsing some of our country guides to get an idea. If you're able to attend the QS World Grad School Tour, that could also help you get more ideas, through face-to-face conversations with university representatives from different countries. And you may also want to check out our ranking of the world's top universities for business and management. Hope this helps!
