The objective of our graduate program is to provide an experience that meets the educational goals of the individual student while providing opportunities for research in traditional and interdisciplinary areas of chemistry. We prepare you for careers in industry and teaching, as well as for post-graduate and professional programs at other institutions. The MS degree requires at least 32 credit hours and the completion of a thesis based on original research. MS Chemistry: A thesis-based Master's degree with research opportunities in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Education, Environmental Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry. MS Chemistry: Emphasis in Carcinogenesis and Cancer Chemotherapy Cancer is currently the leading cause of death in people under age 85 the United States. The American Cancer Society estimates that nearly half of all men and a little over one third of all women in the US will develop cancer during their lifetimes. This degree is designed for you if you’re interested in learning about cancer and its causes and treatments from a chemical perspective. MS Chemistry: Emphasis in Bioorganic and Biomedical Chemistry Drugs, medicines, and medical devices help people to live longer, healthier and more productive lives.
