The University of Antwerp has nine faculties, centres and institutes, several decision-making and advisory bodies and eleven central departments. The University of Antwerp has about 6,000 members of staff in various layers, organised according to basic academic and administrative structures.

It has close ties with Antwerp University Hospital (UZA), the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp Management School (AMS) and other higher education institutions in Antwerp that belong to the Antwerp University Association. These relationships and our partnerships with the City of Antwerp and the Port of Antwerp continuously create win-win situations. Our university is embedded in an extensive socio-economic network, which ensures that we are engaged in intensive dialogue with society.

The University of Antwerp has more than 23 000 students: 17,5% are international, representing 127 nationalities.
There are more than 40 different student clubs and associations on the campuses. Unifac and ASK-Stuwer are the umbrella organizations.
On the first day of the academic year they organize ‘Students on Stage’ for all new students. Other activities during the year include orientation days for bachelor’s students and numerous other activities such as parties, film week, student balls, go-kart races and more.
