The master's degree is designed to receive students who have identified themselves with both classical music and popular music in undergraduate studies, and who wish to continue with these lines of interest in their postgraduate studies.

Objectives:

  • Train the student so that he can perform both as a theoretical researcher and as a field researcher, as well as in teaching in institutions of higher learning.

The applicant may come from the specialty of music (performer, composer) and/or from the humanities, social sciences, communications and the like.

The applicant must also:

  • Clearly define the purposes and objectives you want to achieve upon completion of the master's degree.
  • Propose a topic of musicological research from their experience, which will be developed through their training in the master's degree.
  • Have the conviction that based on their previous experiences, added to the skills that they will develop in the master's degree, they will develop an original thesis, directed towards some aspect of music as a subject of study, which will contribute to the development of their specialty in society.
  • You must pass a simple musical knowledge test (basic theory, reading and writing) in order to ensure that you will be able to take the first year courses without major setbacks.
  • If you do not have any technical musical knowledge, you must be willing to take a crash course in music reading and writing.
