Our Systems Engineering Level 7 Apprenticeship programme enables organisations and employees to utilise their Apprenticeship Levy to develop graduates who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to manage end-to-end engineering of complex systems.

In today’s competitive and highly interconnected world, all businesses must deal with significant levels of complexity and need engineers that can create innovative solutions to complex problems, by managing both the whole system (systemic) and the detailed engineering (systematic) aspects of the challenges. Systems engineering is an essential organisational competence for industries that deal with very large, complex, multi-disciplinary products and services. We have been teaching Systems Engineering since 1992 and our apprenticeship programme was designed, and has been evolved, in close collaboration with industry.

This part-time apprenticeship is block-taught and offers a flexible, blended learning format, enabling you to combine working full-time at your current workplace with studying part-time towards a master’s in Systems Engineering.
At each stage of the apprenticeship, you will be asked to draw on your work experience and to apply your learning within your own organisational context. You will learn alongside a diverse cohort of engineers from across the sector which will enable you to share fresh perspectives on similar problems and build your professional networks.

Our apprenticeship combines a strong emphasis on Model-Based Systems Engineering with the business considerations needed for delivering and managing high quality systems. The curriculum is aligned to the industry-standard Systems Engineering competencies of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE). It is also compliant with the level 7 standard (STO107) of the Institute for Apprentices and Technical Education, so that companies and their employees can benefit from Apprenticeship Levy funding.
