To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible as a regular Ph.D. (biochemistry) student, the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • demonstrate good knowledge of the French and English languages
  • in the case of the restricted option Cellular dynamics of macromolecular complexes, priority will be given to students whose supervisor is identified with the group of researchers specific to this research problem.

When registering for the program, students who have not completed their previous studies in French must demonstrate, through a certification recognized by the University of Montreal, skills in French - the minimum level required is level A1 of the grid established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR). If this proof is not provided, the student must successfully complete a 3-credit French second language course of equivalent level (A1) offered at the University of Montreal.

1.1 Eligibility conditions - Access from the M. Sc. to the Ph. D.

  • hold an M. Sc. (biochemistry) or an M. Sc. in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent diploma, or provide evidence of training deemed equivalent
  • have obtained, in the 2nd cycle, an average of at least 3.3 out of 4.3.

1.2 Eligibility conditions - Direct transition from M. Sc. to Ph. D. without writing a dissertation

  • be registered for the M. Sc. and have completed the M. Sc. studies.
  • have obtained, in the 2 nd cycle, an average of at least 3.4 out of 4.3.

1.3 Eligibility conditions - Direct access to the Ph. D.

  • hold a BSc (biochemistry) or a BSc in an appropriate discipline, or an MD, or a diploma deemed equivalent
  • have obtained, in the 1st cycle, an average of at least 3.6 out of 4.3
  • have research experience.
