Undergraduate Doctorate in Medicine (MD)

The undergraduate doctorate in medicine prepares future doctors for their roles as scientific and humanist professionals, communicators and collaborators within multidisciplinary teams, in order to meet the needs of a changing society and the imperatives of a system health in full transformation. The program lasts four years. However, a preparatory year is required for holders of a college diploma, international students and academics whose program of study is not considered generally equivalent to that of the preparatory year (see the admission requirements for a partial list of UdeM programs deemed equivalent).

All candidates must have successfully completed, within the prescribed time frame, the prerequisite courses specified in the eligibility conditions. But beyond this requirement, the orientation of the candidates' studies in exact sciences or humanities does not affect the probability of being admitted to medicine. The faculty therefore encourages its future students to acquire training that is as rich and versatile as possible.
