The PhD in History invites you to explore the most current research methods and theories in many areas of the discipline. To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XX) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible for the Ph. D. (history), the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XX of the Educational Regulations) for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a master's degree in history or its equivalent
  • have obtained, in the 2nd cycle, an average of at least 3.3 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
The student must have sufficient knowledge of the French and English languages ​​as well as any other language deemed necessary for the pursuit of their research.
