Bio-Chemistry program aims to help students with the mastery of basic science, concept, and methods in the field of biochemistry. This program is the pioneer of the higher education program in biochemistry in Indonesia which produces graduates who are able to connect and demonstrate biochemical concepts or methods in solving problems in agriculture, bioindustry, health, and the environment. Employment for graduates include various companies that use biochemical processes or biological systems (microbes) in the production of raw materials from natural sources (including: production of MSG and fermented / processed milk); Itopharmaca based agribusiness company; Government agencies (BPOM) and research institutions (including: Medicinal and Aromatic Research Institute, Center for Agricultural Biotechnology and Genetic Resources Research, Biotechnology Research Center-LIPI, Science and Technology Research Center, Eijkman Molecular Biology Institute); Educational institutions (tertiary and upper secondary levels).

Bachelor’s Degree in IPB University is a four-year program. Since 2005, IPB University has offered the major-minor curriculum that allows students to choose from more than 500 combinations of competencies. This opportunity allows scholars of IPB University to obtain double competencies, even a double degree to enable them to compete in the job market. Their competencies are not limited to the activities of on-farm agriculture, but also off-farm agricultural activities which cover, among others, agribusiness and agro-industry.
