Business program aims to become a study program that excels in developing responsible business practitioners in resource and life science-based industries through education, research and service processes with an entrepreneurial spirit, focused on sustainability and globally oriented. It is designed to respond to the demands of the nation and the market for entrepreneurs who are able to professionally and sustainably manage the wealth of the agricultural, marine and tropical bio-science sectors owned by Indonesia. The number of entrepreneurs in the fields of business and industry based on agriculture, marine, and tropical bio-science owned by Indonesia is currently still very low compared to the needs of the nation to become a developed country. The provision of comprehensive and implementable knowledge is not enough to prepare students to become entrepreneurs. Students must be convinced that business is a promising career path for them.

Bachelor’s Degree in IPB University is a four-year program. Since 2005, IPB University has offered the major-minor curriculum that allows students to choose from more than 500 combinations of competencies. This opportunity allows scholars of IPB University to obtain double competencies, even a double degree to enable them to compete in the job market. Their competencies are not limited to the activities of on-farm agriculture, but also off-farm agricultural activities which cover, among others, agribusiness and agro-industry.
