Silviculture is a science and art on forest development that begin from nursery, forest regeneration, forest growth and health control, and site quality control to create forest ecosystem which ecologically, economically, and socially productive and sustainable. Graduates of this program will be capable to apply the expertise on silviculture subject and utilizing science, technology, or art of silviculture to solve the problems and guarantee the forest ecosystem functions: ecology, protection, and productivity based on the forest values, sustainability, and adaptability. They will be capable to the theoretical concept on silviculture knowledge subject generally also theoretical concept of the Forest Ecology Division, Silviculture (Forest Productivity) Division, and Forest Protection Division, and capable to formulating the problem solving in procedural.

Bachelor’s Degree in IPB University is a four-year program. Since 2005, IPB University has offered the major-minor curriculum that allows students to choose from more than 500 combinations of competencies. This opportunity allows scholars of IPB University to obtain double competencies, even a double degree to enable them to compete in the job market.
