Objectives of Master in Colombian and Latino-american Literature

• Promote the qualification of literary studies that are developed in the country.
• Promote reading, study and critical systematization of Colombian and Latin American literature.
• Promote the evaluation, criticism and permanent updating of literary studies that are carried out in the national and Latin American academic context in general.
• Contribute to the training and qualification of professionals who work in the literary field and in related careers.

Professional Profile The  Master in Colombian and Latin American Literature  of the Universidad del Valle has a training profile expressed in the following competencies:

• Updating competence: seeks to update knowledge with respect to the Master's own denominative and justifying emphasis.
• Interpretive competence: trains in the promotion and enrichment of interpretive skills in their field of study.
• Evaluative and investigative competence: encourages and qualifies in the work of criticism and literary research.
• Cultural and professional competence: satisfies the demands and cultural needs of society in terms of literary studies, thus articulating the academic interests of students with relevant social and cultural problems.
