The Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of the Universidad del Valle offers the country's high school graduates the Sociology program among its study plans. Sociology is a relatively young science whose object is the study of the social behavior of individuals, the structures or social networks in which they are organized and the social changes they generate with their actions.
The role of sociologists is increasingly important in understanding and explaining multiple social phenomena. Colombia is going through a situation characterized by acute social problems whose outcome will be profoundly transformed, and it is up to sociology to help explain the changes that have occurred and guide Colombians about the various ways to rebuild our social fabric and create a more inclusive society
